  • Changing times

We all live in interesting times. I'm sure that most of you are aware of this, even without popping your heads out of mainstream media you probably get the sense that things are changing fast.
I'm seeing a lot of things happen all over the globe, some make me wonder what the aftermath will be more than others. I won't bother naming events or situations because I'm sure you could go check either mainstream or non mainstream news sources any day of the week and see what I'm talking about.
The fact is that things are changing and changing fast. I'm not sure how long things will stay "good" for. It's probably not a bad idea to do some preparation as I've mentioned before.
Anyway here are a few tips to reduce stress during this time and any other that may come.

    1. Realize that you are out of control anyway. Some of you really have a hard time wrapping your minds around that but the truth of the matter is that your on a rock hurling around a flaming ball of gas going God knows how fast an then there's the fact that we aren't the only rock floating around in space, random "little" ones are all over the place and sometimes they do hit our rock. So next time your upset cause things aren't going your way just remember that your not in control and never have been. Control is simply an illusion to a large extent.

    2. Realize that if you use the USD (US Dollar) that eventually, and likely in the not so distant future, it's going to be pretty much worthless. Why do you think banks aren't so quick to give out loans these days? If you know that if you loan bubba 50 grand and that 50 grand could be worth the equivalent of 50 cents before to long it's kinda a bad idea to loan bubba. Translated, if you have a vacation or adventure that you have always wanted to go on, you should probably do it now. Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, your money is worth more to charity then being worthless in your bank account. In fact if you spend it all on charity or adventures or both and the dollar crashes you will probably feel relief that you didn't loose anything cause you didn't have anything to loose. Of course I know this is horrible advice and I should be telling you all to save according to all the talking heads. What I've learned in life is that money comes and goes, if your going to save something save things that aren't US currency. If you have savings in US currency form then you should probably change those out and leave only a few thousand dollars in that form to last you till it all crashes. If your just an average joe and don't have a clue what I'm talking about I'll try to make it easy for you.
a brief history of the USD
    Money based on gold
    money based on government
government with poor to no money management skills
    government prints too much money
if there are 10 widgets in the system and then all the sudden there are 10 billion widgets in the system then the price/worth of the widget will go down.
The crash - when everyone realizes the worth of their widgets have gone down
The price changes, wheel barrel of money for a loaf of bread anyone?
Sad day for all those who studiously saved only in our currency.
    Sad day for everyone really.

So If you have been paying attention to this random unedited post that likely has a lot of errors you probably have started to grasp what I'm saying.

    1. your money is worth something now.
    2. it won't be for long
    3. spend your money or give it to charity
    4. It's not a bad idea to spend some of it on food (bucket of rice an beans?)
    5. If you feel the need to save which isn't such a horrible idea then you should probably invest in  SAFE things, such as other currency, tangible items, and things you can use without power.

I really really hope I'm wrong and that the USD is going to enjoy another 100 years of being worth something but... history, reality, common sense, logic, reason, and so on... they sure do get in the way.

    CHEERS!

I am in no way responsible for your financial choices.

  • Economy and health.

I feel it's important for me to post more information on how people can stay healthy during this rough economy. Now more than ever governments are poisoning their people in various fashions while attempting to make it harder for people to get good healthy food. There is way more money in keeping people sick than there is in keeping people well. Some of you may be up in arms about the above statements but you don't have to look far to see that they are true. The FDA's support of companies like Monsanto for example. I won't get into all that right now because anyone who can read can find that information on their own.

With the economy failing and jobless rates rising it's important to note that a few things tend to fluctuate with these.
Alcohol consumption typically goes up in a bad economy. Depression and hopelessness are also on the rise during such times. Now Alcohol isn't bad but consuming too much of it is. It is toxic to the liver. The liver is incredibly important to health as it helps remove toxins. So next time your thinkin about going out on a drinking spree try a liver cleanse instead.
    http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=64D18B21CC571439D07A2D89ABF6B8AC

When you get down and hopeless go spend time in nature. Plant a garden, watch a sunset. I know that things are bad right now and getting worse but the birds are still eating and people haven't resorted to eating their pets yet as far as I know. Take it from someone who has known what it's like to go hungry, it will all work out as long as you keep a positive attitude and work hard. Be the best at whatever you do because everything you do speaks about you as a person. If someone looks at your work will they see a lazy person who doesn't care or will they see a work of art done as if it was important even though it was just a simple task such as cleaning a bathroom.
If you die trying at least you die well.

So some simple things you can do to cut expenses and stay healthy during this time are as follows.
    1. Drink less or no alcohol. If you do drink, make your own. It's not that hard. If enough people ask I will do a post on how to make wine.
    2. See if you can cut expenses. See if you can get a cheaper auto insurance for example. You may also want to check to see if you can find a better bank, credit unions are typically better and it might just be time to make that move. Re evaluate cell phone providers, can you downsize your plan? Cancel cable TV, this just waste your time and electric and makes you stupid. In fact you could sell your TV for a few extra bucks.
    3. Evaluate your food situation. Eat more stables such as rice and beans. Keep a notepad on the fridge so you can write down just how much you end up throwing out. Then re evaluate the quantities of food your buying. I would guess that Americans typically throw out 1/4 to 1/2 of all the food they buy without eating it.  You could save a lot of money by re evaluating your food consumption. Shop local whenever possible this encourages local growers and stimulates local economy. Growing your own food can also be a great idea, just be sure you don't spend too much on creating a garden. Goongoo peas are a high yield easy to grow crop. You can get coffee grounds at your local Starbucks for free, that is free fertilizer. You can also often get free mulch at your local landfill. There are a lot of resources out there for those who look.
    4.   Reduce the amount of water you use and if you don't need to have a light on keep it off.
I pee outside so i don't have to flush a few liters of water down every time i make water. Pee really helps compost piles. Some use gray water systems to flush their toilets or use composting toilets. I recall I a sign I saw in the bathroom at one commune that said "if it's yellow it's mellow, if its brown flush it down"
    5. plan trips so you don't end up wasting gas by going the same direction 3 or 4 different times when you could do it all in one trip. Find ways to conserve fuel. Buy cars that get good millage. Just a heads up, the gas prices are rising and will get worse. We may see $5 a gallon before the end of the year.
    6. Plan fun events that are not expensive, such as a bike ride or a walk. Fishing is always a great one cause it can help you save on your food bill also.
    7. Talk to friends and neighbors, build community.
    8. Avoid shopping at places like wally world or similar stores as they typically ship all the money out of a community.
    9. Barter barter barter.
    10. Work out and stretch often. It's a great way to deal with the stress and it also helps to keep your body healthy thus reducing medical expenses and lost time at work.

Cheers! Have a happy healthy 2011 even if it's a bad year for us economically. Remember that the most important things in life are God, family, and community/friends.
Money is just a tool, it's possible to live without it.

  • no more cold, no more flu.

----Edit: so far smoking MJ only seems to work as a preventative rather than a cure, I am more convinced now that ingesting gets better health results than smoking. As for curing the flu or cold I think more research needs to be done before I can conclusively say that it doesn't work. It does of course make you feel better by far but as for actually making you better the jury is still out. I'd like to test the getting well part again using ingestion rather than smoking only. If any of you have tested these things let me know your results please. ----

It's been a long time since my last post but due to some recent test/study involving myself I may have some good clues for those of you who don't really care to get the flu or a cold.

    My experiment:
Testing 2 cures for the common cold/flu over about 3 weeks.

I deprived myself of good sleep by going to bed late and getting up early.
I made nearly daily contact with sick individuals for a 2 week period
I ate junk food. Namely ice cream, but also large amounts of candy and cookies along with pie.
I spent time out in the cold daily. This is not at all my typical diet.
I rarely used soap. And yes you can live life without soap and without body odor if your smart.

Result, week 3 I felt a little bit off as if I might catch a flu, I had shared a pipe a guy who had the flu.
I slept extra that night and in the morning felt 100 percent.

Translated I did a lot that should have gotten me sick normally but while taking the possible cures or preventions and didn't get sick. I also did stretching a few times a week but I'm not sure how much influence that had in my staying well.

I guess I can't really say cure at this point as I haven't been sick in at least a year but i had a friend who was and he showed significant improvement within 24 hours and got better soon after.

So what are these powerful plant medicines that seem to prevent or cure the common cold/flu?
.... one is Hot peppers! Scotch bonnets, ghost peppers, Thai peppers and for you light weights jalapeno.
    How it works.
It raises the body temp, increases circulation, releases endorphins, helps the digestive tract(can cure stomach ulcers also), and makes your food taste better to boot! It's also good at killing some cancer cells according to some studies.
Now you lightweights will probably be shocked to hear that I was a lightweight for most of my life when it came to hot stuff, I went from medium sauce to ghost pepper in a few short months.
How? I took scotch bonnets (fairly high up on the scottsmore scale) dried them and put them in capsule form and then took one a day with fiber for a few weeks following each with some sort of fiber which eliminates or greatly reduces the burn when they exit the body. Taking them in this way enabled me to avoid most of the discomfort while allowing my body time to adjust to the "heat".

So there's a little bit about the first part of the cure and the lesser part in my opinion.

... The 2nd part of the cure/prevention is a plant of great controversy. I know many people have been conditioned to believe a lot of lies regarding this plant and many have tried to destroy it from society for the sake of greed and gains. Professional fields frown on it typically. In my opinion medicinal plants of any kind should not be illegal simply because a few greedy people want to save their profits and a few people abuse it.
We shouldn't shun medicine that could be both cheap and plentiful .... but then of course the sick care industry and big Pharma wouldn't make as much of their beloved $$$.
    The plant? Cannabis.
This plant is a powerful prevention and I dare say cure for the common cold.
Methods of ingestion - you can make a tea from the leafs and branches if your lucky enough to know someone who grows it or have connections for "shake".
I'm lucky to know a few people who grow and perhaps one day would like to grow myself for medicinal reasons if it becomes legal for that in my state.

The tea made from the leafs and stems won't get you "high" like the flowers but it is a nice pick me up and is better than coffee or 5 hr energy in my opinion. You could get a light buzz off of it but not enough to interrupt your daily life.

The Jamaicans have told me they put the flower in rum and leave it for a long time and take shots when or if they get sick. Alcohol is a method of extraction and thus shots will get you high so plan accordingly.

Vape - heating the plant matter to the point where it releases the THC but is not hot enough to actually burn the plant. This is a very safe method of ingestion and is much healthier for you than smoking as there is no smoke and it's not hot enough to burn your lungs. It is also a cleaner high than smoking and with little to no lingering smell. You can also hold it in longer (which I'm not convinced actually helps aside from making your lungs stronger)

Smoking - not ideal but by far the most popular method, mostly due to budget or ignorance. (your bud will go a lot farther with a vape)

FOOD - Space cakes, special cookies, pot brownies, pot pudding, Rasta pasta, pot corn, ganja garlic bread, peaceful pizza, spaceship subs and so on.
The resulting high from food is typically more of a body high. Time often slows and things look way cooler typically.  depending on how much you had. For those of you who have never made Cannabis food you should probably do some reading before you attempt it. It's easy once you know how.

Topical rubs- typically an alcohol extraction used on sore muscles or joints

I consumed it in all of the above ways except for the rum, mostly because i don't care for liquor and didn't have the few weeks needed to make it well.

I'm well, I doubt I will ever get sick again unless I choose to or have no access to these things.

Side note for all those who are convinced that Cannabis is evil or bad - 1. Bible says EVERY herb that gives seed was given. 2. If you believe 1 includes this herb that gives seed then it's protected under the constitution (freedom of religion). If you don't agree with exercising your constitutional rights to use plants to stay well because thugs in uniform are putting people behind bars for doing so then you can go on your way and enjoy the cold and flu a few times a year unless you figured something else out. 3. If you believe that preventing the poor from having access to plant medicines in favor of toxic crap that the doc gives and injections that do unknown harm.... well there probably isn't any hope in having any sort of rational logical discussion with you. 4. The plant itself is not whats bad, it's however sometimes abused. Yes I admit that it is sometimes abused, particularly among the deadbeats of society which interestingly enough seem to have the most contact with nearly all harmful synthetic drugs and alcohol. I don't consider Cannabis to be a harmful drug and alcohol in moderation can also be useful.  Does the plant make you a deadbeat? No. If your a deadbeat it's your own fault. It enhances what you already are. If your a lazy couch potato you will probably be more of a lazy couch potato. If your a productive active person, you will likely be more productive and more active. There are many within society who use this plant responsibly for medical or recreational reasons who do not with to be associated with the "potheads" who simply consume massive amounts of junk food and do nothing with their lives. Plants don't make bad people bad people are simply bad from the start. People who use this plant typically are more laid back than people who don't. Events such as Hemp fests are said to be the easiest events of the year to work for local authorities.
If this plant is used responsibly, particularly for medicinal reasons, it is not a bad thing at all. Contrary to propaganda films such as reefer madness cannabis will not turn you into a violent killer who rapes people. That was just lies fed to the sheeple in order to sway public opinion in order to make hemp illegal.

Also for those who have never used this plant before and care little one way or the other, if you go out and get some make sure it's from a trusted source. Do not buy it on the street corner, those people typically sell more than just pot and sometimes lace it with any number of other drugs or chemicals in order to ad weight.
Know what your getting and who your getting it from, this is the safest way to avoid problems.
It is impossible to overdose, it is possible to suffocate like the one study they did where they put gas mask with pot smoke on a monkey or 2 till they ran out of o2 and died. (an example of biased "research" on the "harmful" effects of weed)
You can't overdose, it's physically impossible.
This isn't to say that there isn't contraindications for this plant and the hot peppers. There are.
Consult your local doctor before taking this plant provided you live in a medical Cannabis friendly state and know a doctor who actually knows what he's talking about on it.
You could probably also look online.
There is also the chance for an allergic reaction but this only happens with a very small percent of people. Start small and see how your body handles it. You may not even get high the first few times. That is normal.
Always put job, family, friends, and pets before the use of Cannabis. If your read this far your likely and adult so just act like an adult with it and you shouldn't have any problems.

Drug test- these test are nearly exclusively for the detection of Cannabis (THC). Yes they do test for other things but it's well known that harder harmful synthetic drugs such as oxy, roxy, tabs, coke, crack, an so on leave the system many times faster than THC thus making them a more popular choice for recreational use than a harmless plant. Many agencies require testing which means they are not only making a lot of $$$ on selling tests to companies, they are also preventing many from using a plant for medicinal reasons.
SO what you need to know about drug tests. Cannabis stays in the system an average of 30 days. This depends largely on your body fat percentage as the THC stores in your fat cells. So if your fat then it could take up to 90 days to leave your system. If your average - 30 days should be plenty. If your skinny then 1 to 2 weeks is typical and for the super skinny few it could be out in a weekend. Of course this is just a general guide so don't quote me on it.

    Other odds an ins.
Cannabis effects different people different ways. First times should be in a safe controlled environment after a lot of reading about other peoples experiences. Be around people who care about you and won't just try to mess with you. It might help to have a few healthy snacks nearby and some water and a toothbrush. If you get cotton mouth(which is common) from smoking then simply brush your teeth/mouth and it should take care of it.
If your prone to being paranoid and are typically a fearful person then this may not be for you. I have never gotten paranoid but I hear it happens with some people.

Cannabis is illegal except for a few states. In those few states you can use the plant for medicinal reasons if a doctor prescribes it for you. If you think the law is a bad law and harmful to humanity and agree with Gandhi on civil disobedience when laws are bad, then you have 2 options. 1. Be loud an vocal about it and risk jail time for a good cause. 2. Be careful and cautious and smart and don't get caught.

The "I" referred to in this blog post does not necessarily mean me but could be simply the experience of one of my friends or someone from another state or country.
I personally choose not to say if I use this plant or not.
I am in no way responsible for what you do with the above information. If anything "bad" or negative or not to your liking happens to you because of how you use the info here, it is not my problem and I deny all responsibility. The information given here is for informational reasons only and claims have not been checked out by the FDA unless they are simply hiding the information because they are money hungry ... low life's.
Basically if you read this an have a problem in any way shape or form even remotely related to what you did with this information that's your own fault.

Other things that help if you are sick or getting sick or wanting to avoid getting sick.
    1. If you have a fever putting cold on your feet tends to reduce the fever.
    2. Plenty of rest and plenty of water.
    3. plenty of activity (stimulates the lymphatic system) Stretching is great
    4. raising your body temp through a hot bath, hot tub, hot spring, hot peppers, exercise, or sauna.
    5. hot water on the feet if you just don't feel well.
    6. healthy diet with large amounts of mint and turmeric
    7. massage.
    8. lots of fiber.
    9. walking
    10. wash your hands and be generally clean.
    11. Take 400 mg of vitamin C every other hour till you start to get the runs then back off a bit and just take that a few times a day.
    12. Perhaps the most important, maintain good spiritual/emotional health.

Well I think that about covers it. Have a great new year and stay well, be well, and live well.
    Cheers!

  • God asks about lawns.

GOD: Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But, all I see are these green rectangles.

St. FRANCIS: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers 'weeds' and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass.

GOD: Grass? But, it's so boring. It's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, birds and bees; only grubs and sod worms. It's sensitive to temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want all that grass growing there?

ST. FRANCIS: Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and keep it green. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any other plant that crops up in the lawn.

GOD: The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy.

ST. FRANCIS: Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it-sometimes twice a week.

GOD: They cut it? Do they then bale it like hay?

ST. FRANCIS: Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags.

GOD: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?

ST. FRANCIS: No, Sir, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.

GOD: Now, let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow. And, when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away?

    ST. FRANCIS: Yes, Sir.

GOD: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves them a lot of work.

ST. FRANCIS: You aren't going to believe this, Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it, so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it.

GOD: What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn, they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. It's a natural cycle of life.

ST. FRANCIS: You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and pay to have them hauled away.

GOD: No!? What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter to keep the soil moist and loose?

ST. FRANCIS: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something which they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves.

GOD: And where do they get this mulch?

ST. FRANCIS: They cut down trees and grind them up to make the mulch.

GOD: Enough! I don't want to think about this anymore. St. Catherine, you're in charge of the arts. What movie have you scheduled for us tonight?

ST. CATHERINE: 'Dumb and Dumber', Lord. It's a story about....

GOD: Never mind, I think I just heard the whole story from St. Francis.
